Privacy Policy
How Relay Energy collects, uses, stores and discloses your personal information. Version 1.0 — effective 1 July 2026.
1. Relay Energy Privacy Policy
References to "Relay Energy," "we," "us," and "our" apply to Relay Energy and its related bodies corporate as defined in the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth). Relay Energy is bound by the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), which regulate how personal information is managed to protect individual confidentiality and privacy.
2. Our Commitment to You
We collect personal information to identify customers or potential customers, provide electricity, gas and other products and services, offer additional products and services, send marketing about our offerings, assess job applicants' suitability, and respond to enquiries and conduct our business professionally. If you don't provide requested information, we may be unable to provide our services or correspond with you.
The information we may collect includes identification details (licences, names, addresses, contact information, social media handles), credit card or bank account details where applicable, and health and financial information relevant to assessing eligibility for government concessions. We collect this through our business activities, events, mail, telephone, email and online questionnaires, or directly and indirectly through recruitment channels for job applicants.
We may share personal information with network operators supplying energy, related companies, service providers (billing, meter reading, technology, security), professional advisors (lawyers, auditors), and credit reporting bodies.
We typically don't transfer personal information overseas. If this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient doesn't breach the Australian Privacy Principles, unless they're subject to substantially equivalent protections, your consent is obtained, or legal authorisation exists.
We may use your information for marketing our products and services — you can ask to be removed from our marketing lists at any time by contacting our Privacy Officer. Sensitive information (such as health data for concession eligibility) may be collected with your consent where practicable; in limited circumstances, consent may be implied.

4. Access to Personal Information
You can request access to your personal information, subject to certain restrictions — our Privacy Officer will provide it in a suitable form. You should notify our Privacy Officer of any changes to your information; we'll take reasonable steps to correct it, or annotate disputed information if we don't consider an amendment necessary.
5. Storage and Destruction
Personal information is recorded in hard copy files and computer databases or data storage services. We destroy or de-identify information no longer needed for a valid purpose, unless a law requires us to retain it.
